The bench headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar directed the CPCB to apprise it about the status of thermal power plants which are causing emissions beyond permissible limits and thereby causing air pollution.
The green court that had earlier rapped the Union Environment Ministry for not complying with its own directions and thereby failing to ensure effective implementation of its notification over emission standards and water consumption for coal-based thermal power plants.
On Friday, the bench pointed out the Environment Ministry's notification dated December 7, 2015 that asks the power plants to reduce the emissions.
"Show us one plant where compliance has been done. We direct the CPCB would take clear instructions on the next date of hearing," the bench asked CPCB.
The matter will next be heard on December 7.
