UAE National Day celebrated at Paris' Louvre MuseumParis, Nov 30 (IANS/WAM) The UAE Embassy here has observed the country's National Day for the first time at the Louvre Museum in the presence of top officials.

The United Arab Emirates' National Day is on Saturday. The reception to mark the day was held in the museum on Wednesday and was attended by UAE Minister of State Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Health Minister Abdul Rahman Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais and the country's Ambassador to France Omar Saif Ghobash.

Former French Prime Minister Laurent Fabius and the Speaker of the French Constitutional Council were also present.

 

"We are proud to observe the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the UAE here today in a celebration that reflects the privileged bonds between the UAE and France," said Nusseibeh.

Minister Al Owais lauded the distinguished cultural relations between the two countries and highlighted the recent opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi as a major milestone in further advancing these relations to a higher level.

Around 70 UAE students are enrolled in diverse and rigorous majors in France, including medicine, law, security and political sciences.

Abdullah Musabah Al Naimi, the Chairperson of the UAE Permanent Delegate to Unesco and a number of representatives of the UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry also attended the function.
