Lucknow, Nov 29 (IANS) Three children were killed in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district on Wednesday after a wall of their house collapsed during repair work, police said.
The accident took place at Sarthauli village of Kaant area.
The house of Ram Kumar was undergoing repairs when the digging of a pit nearby led to the sudden collapse of the wall, burying the children playing along it under the rubble.
By the time, the villagers pulled the children out of the debris, Seema, 12, Ganesh, 11 and Jhanvi, 2, were already dead.
Two others - Princey and Ram Kumar - have been injured and admitted to a medical facility where their condition is out of danger.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the loss of lives in the incident and directed the district officials to ensure adequate and prompt treatment to the injured.
In a statement issued here, he also instructed officials to extend all possible help to the affected persons.
