New Delhi, Nov 29 (IANS) India and Italy on Wednesday inked an MoU to enhance cooperation in the health sector, including establishing a comprehensive inter-ministerial and inter-institutional cooperation in the field, an official statement said.
The MoU was signed by Health Minister J. P. Nadda and his visiting Italian counterpart Beatrice Lorenzin.
A Health Ministry statement said that the main areas of cooperation will be exchange & training of medical doctors, officials, other health professionals and by assistance in development of human resources and setting up of health care facilities.
"The other areas also include short term training of human resources in health, regulation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics and exchange of information thereon and promotion of business development opportunities in pharmaceuticals," it said.
