Chinese ex-officer commits suicide amid corruption probe

Beijing, Nov 28 (IANS) China's Central Military Commission (CMC) on Tuesday announced that one of its former senior officers committed suicide after authorities launched a corruption probe against him.

Zhang Yang hanged himself at his home here on November 23, reports Xinhua news agency.

Investigators said Zhang had seriously violated discipline and law. He was suspected of offering and accepting bribes and holding a huge amount of property from unidentified sources.
