New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) A 50-year old woman was killed and her daughter seriously injured when a speeding car rammed a scooter they were riding in south Delhi's Moti Bagh area, police said on Sunday.
On late Saturday night, Navneet Kaur, 22, a First Year student of South Delhi Polytechnic for Women, along with her mother Ranjeet Kaur was moving towards their residence in west Delhi's Vishnu Garden from south Delhi's Govindpuri on the two-wheeler when a speeding Eco van rammed it near Moti Bagh flyover.
The accused driver escaped after leaving the car at the spot while the two were taken to All India Institute for Medical Sciences Trauma Centre where Ranjeet Kaur was declared dead on arrival, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.
Navneet is under treatment but unfit to make a police statement.
The officer said no eyewitness to the accident had come forward, adding that a mobile phone was seized from the car.
