Bhopal, Nov 24 (IANS) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday said public sentiment were against the BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and her party can come to power if its workers made some efforts.
"People in these states are under stress due to the BJP rule. It is party workers' responsibility to convey our message to every section of the society.
"If we succeed, we will able to throw both (BJP) governments out of power and the BSP will form governments," she said during the party's state-level convention here.
On the Bharatiya Janata Party raking up the Ram Mandir issue, Mayawati said: "Dalits are not going to be benefited if Ram Mandir is built in Ayodhya. The BJP is planning to use the issue to come to power again. However, the BSP will not let it happen."
In addition to Madhya Pradesh, party workers from Chhattisgarh and Odisha also participated in the convention, which was held keeping in mind the assembly elections next year.
The BSP has four legislators in Madhya Pradesh.
Mayawati also alleged that the BJP won Uttar Pradesh assembly elections by hacking Electronic Voting Machines. The current situation of the country is worse than during the Emergency, she added.
The BSP supremo also took a dig at the Congress saying both the Congress and the BJP did not let government schemes reach the under-privileged. Their motive was just to stop the BSP, she said.
