Kolkata, Nov 23 (IANS) Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama on Thursday said former US President George W. Bush's motivation to bring democracy in Iraq was "good" but his method "wrong."
"He is a wonderful person. We immediately developed a close level human interaction when we first met. I told him 'I respect you but I have great reservation for some of your policies'," he said at a talk organised by the ICC.
The Dalai Lama also spoke about his relation with Bush Junior to drive home his emphasis on conflict resolution through dialogue.
"There is a lot of problem (in Iraq). Now there is a bad relation with many in the Muslim community. If he was not using force and used more money for education and scholarship for students, then situation would have been different," he said.
The Dalai Lama said he is "committed till his last breath to promote ancient Indian knowledge in modern India through education".
