Srinagar, Nov 13 (IANS) The Peace bus service, Karvan-e-Aman, between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for a week, an official said.
Officials at the Uri trade and travel facilitation centre in north Kashmir's Baramulla district said the Peace bus service could not be operated last week as authorities in Muzaffarabad had asked for its suspension due to their pressing engagement.
In 2005, the 'Karvan-e-Aman' bus service was started to facilitate re-union between members of divided families living across the Line of Control (LoC) in Indian and Pakistan-administered parts of Kashmir.
Travellers from both sides reach the 'Aman Setu' on the LoC in Uri sector and then cross the bridge on foot, then they board buses for Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
