Kurukshetra, Nov 10 (IANS) In a humane gesture, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stopped his convoy in a town here to meet and enquire about the well being of an elderly cobbler, Ajmer Singh.
The Chief Minister gave Rs 50,000 out of his discretionary fund to Singh and assured him that arrangements would be made for the education of his two grandsons.
Singh, who works by a roadside in Shahbad Markanda, about 60 km from Chandigarh, was visibly moved by the Chief Minister's gesture.
Khattar heads the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Haryana since October 2014.
