New Delhi, Nov 10 (IANS) At a time when the world is dealing with a bunch of socio-political crisis situations, a series of paintings and photographs beautifully establishes the analogous nature of angst, stress and distress of humans.
Held at the The Stainless Gallery in New Friends Colony, the exhibition is organised by Great Banyan Art, an online art gallery and curated by its co-founder, Sonali Batra.
The exhibition showcases works by Indian artists like T.V Santosh, Shilpa Gupta, Anjum Singh, Sunil Padwal and Rameshwar Broota and 15 international artists.
It juxtaposes these along with artworks by emerging contemporary artists from Indoensia, South Korea, Vietnam, Russia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Romania, South Africa, UK and the US.
Along with paintings, which are either based on acrylic and oil, there are also a series of photographs and some sculptures.
"The artworks curated are inspired by the ancient geek myth and metaphor used in modern language. With a touch of satire, these works featured in the show symbolises socio-political adversities that are prevalent today," curator Sonali Batra said.
"While 'Pandora's Box draws light onto life's miseries that exist in our world, it also emphasises on hope," she further added.
