Los Angeles, Nov 8 (IANS) Actress Emily Blunt says it was intimidating to sing for fantasy animation film "My Little Pony".
"Daniel (Composer Daniel Ingram) wrote not only an amazing song for me to sing. It's such a powerhouse moment for Tempest in the movie but he was so constructive in how he went about recording it and not wanting to blow my voice out because it's a big number. It's a big song and I was intimidated to sing it," Blunt said in a statement.
She added: "He put me at ease and we just did it in sections. I just think the song is really soaring and spectacular and you discover the reason why she became the way she is. I've always felt with songs in movies that if you're not able to say it, then sing it.
"I think that's really a true way to make the song land and really work. It's just an extension of the character and he wrote this characterful song that was less about needing it to sound pretty and perfect but more about really trying to cement who this character is."
"My Little Pony" takes the successful television series "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" to a new level.
The film revolves around the journey of the Mane 6 - Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity, beyond Equestria to save Ponyville using the magic of friendship, from a threatening dark force that will destroy their home.
Blunt has voiced the character of Tempest.
Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Michael Pena, Sia, Taye Diggs, Uzo Aduba and Zoe Saldana have also lent their voice for the film.
MVP Entertainment is releasing the Jayson Thiessen directorial in India on November 10.
