Bhubaneswar, Nov 7 (IANS) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will deliver his maiden address to schoolchildren on television on Children's Day on November 14, a Minister said on Tuesday.
The 45-minute speech meant for more than 6,60,000 students from around 62,000 schools across the state will be aired on Doordarshan from 11.15 a.m. to noon on November 14.
School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra said the Panchayati Raj Department will organise the event.
He said District Collectors have been directed to make necessary arrangements at the block and panchayat levels for the programme.
The School and Mass Education Department has asked schools' authorities to make arrangement for television sets, including hiring devices in case they do not have one.
Debates and essay writing competitions would also be held in schools on that day.
