Islamabad, Nov 3 (IANS) At least eight people were killed and several injured in a landslide in Pakistan's tribal area of Bajour agency on Friday, the media reported.
The victims were gathering mud for a house when they were struck by a landslide in the mountainous area of Utmankhel in Bajour agency, one of the seven tribal areas of the country stretching along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The local people and rescue teams rushed to the site following the incident and recovered the bodies of six girls, one boy and a woman from the rubble, Dawn News said.
All the injured and bodies have been shifted to a hospital in the area where some of the injured were said to be in critical condition, said hospital authorities.
Last month, at least 15 people, mostly labourers, had been killed and several injured in such incidents in the country's eastern province of Punjab.
