London, Nov 2 (IANS) Comedian David Walliams landed himself in cold water over social media. He was called racist for dressing up as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as he headed to a famous Halloween party.
Walliams, 46, shared few photographs over Instagram on Tuesday alongside his celebrity friends, including Alan Carr, Michael McIntyre and John Bishop, reports mirror.co.uk.
But one of his images -- a solo shot of him in his costume -- sparked a debate amongst his followers.
"Happy Halloween from Kim Jong-un," he captioned the image.
While some social media users found it was hilarious, some lashed out at him.
"If you did not find any problem in here, you are all racists. Wearing yellow face and small eyes? What is wrong with you people? What will you say if someone put black face for Halloween? Bunch of racists. Pathetic," one follower wrote in the comment section.
Another added: "You could have done without yellow-facing".
