Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS) Veteran filmmaker Ramesh Sippy will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution towards Indian cinema at the International Film Festival of Jharkhand.
The "Sholay" director said in a statement: "I want to congratulate the whole team of the International Film Festival of Jharkhand. The film festival is an important platform for cinema lovers, especially young people."
Sippy is also known for directing films like "Shaan" and "Seeta Aur Geeta".
The festival has various categories like feature films, documentaries, short fiction films and animation projects.
The three-day long festival will take place in Dhanbad in mid-October next year.
