Hyderabad, Nov 1 (IANS) Elite Multi Speciality Hospital Pvt. Ltd. on Wednesday signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to set up a multi-speciality hospital in Tirupati with an investment of Rs.250 crore.
J. Krishna Kishore, CEO, Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, and Dr. A. Balasubramanyam, Chairman, Elite Hospital Pvt. Ltd., signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), according to a statement from the Board.
This is APEDB's fifth MoU signing to further enhance facilities for hospitalisation and healthcare in Andhra Pradesh and the first in Tirupati.
The Elite Multi Speciality Hospital Pvt. Ltd. is a leading corporate hospital in Tirupati. Contributing significantly to healthcare in the temple town, it has so far treated over 76,000 patients with 22 active departments.
The company plans to make investment in two phases. This will increase capacity of patient accommodation in the hospital by about 500 beds and also help set up an Organ Transplant and Cancer Care Centre, generating employment for over 5,000 persons.
The APEDB had formerly facilitated the setting up of American Institute of Medical Sciences, BRS Medicity Amaravati, Indo-UK Institute of Health Medicity and LV Prasad Eye Institute -- all in the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) area.
