Irrfan Khan to feature in ‘The Ministry’

Mumbai, Oct 30 (IANS) Actor Irrfan Khan is officially on board to feature in the web series "The Ministry", which is an Indian Amazon original created by Gursimran Khamba.

"The Ministry" is a political satire set in contemporary India's corridors of power and is set to launch globally in 2018 on Amazon Prime Video, read a statement.

An elated Irrfan said: "I am looking forward to this great collaboration with Amazon and AIB - both have content that makes me very excited to work with them. It will be a great experience to be working on this show which will be very topical and funny and will release globally on Amazon Prime Video."

"The Ministry" is the story of a washed up narcissistic Bollywood actor who is unwittingly appointed as a placeholder Union Culture Minister. Despite a crippling bureaucracy, political gaffes and a team of misfits, he yearns to be loved by the masses once again.

"After a phenomenal response to our licensed comedy shows, we are excited to launch our very own Amazon Original in the comedy space. We are further strengthening our offering by collaborating with the best content creators of the genre and roping in one of the most versatile Indian actors with massive global appeal," said Vijay Subramaniam, Director, Content, Amazon Prime Video India.
