U-17 World Cup: 10 people detained for black marketing tickets

Kolkata, Oct 28 (IANS) The police on Saturday detained 10 persons from outside the Salt Lake Stadium here, ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup final between England and Spain, for allegedly trying to sell match tickets at a higher rate than the marked price.

"Ten persons have been detained so far today from outside different gates of the stadium. They have been taken up for questioning to ascertain whether they were black marketing the match tickets," K. Sabari Rajkumar Deputy Comissioner of Police (Zone 2) of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate told IANS.

"We would not have the time to interrogate them until both the match finish tonight. Then their crime would be verified," he added.

The Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan hosted the match for third place in the tournament between Brazil and Mali as well as the big final between England and Spain later in the evening on Saturday.
