New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) The current water storage in 91 major reservoirs of the country has reduced this year as it was found to be 70 per cent of the total storage capacity of these reservoirs, the Water Ministry's data showed.
The storage stood at 109.878 billion cubic metres (BCM) in October-end as against 115.457 BCM during the corresponding period of last year.
"The level of water storage in the week ending on October 26, 2017 was 96 per cent of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 95 per cent of storage of average of last ten years," as per a release.
The total storage capacity of these 91 reservoirs is 157.799 BCM, which is about 62 per cent of the total storage capacity of 253.388 BCM in the country.
