New Delhi, Oct 25 (IANS) A collection agent has been arrested on the charge of shooting dead a young man in east Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
Police said Ravi Solanki, 27, was arrested from his residence in Usmanpur area after a friend of the deceased Rohit Pal, 22, was questioned.
Locals informed police around 9.30 a.m. on Monday about the body of a man, later identified as Rohit, lying near a nullah in the Usmanpur area.
"After Rohit's family told police that he had gone to meet his friend Harish, the latter's questioning revealed that Ravi shot dead Rohit after he and Harish tried to snatch Ravi's wallet to take money for buying liquor," Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Singla said.
Harish told police that after the crime, he ran away to save himself.
Ravi Solanki admitted to his crime and told police that he and one of his associates had gone to the area to collect payment on the fateful day, the officer said.
