Two killed in UP road accident

Lucknow, Oct 18 (IANS) Two persons were killed and 19 injured on Wednesday in Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh when two buses collided head-on, police said.

The accident took place on the Delhi-Budayun road. Police said both buses were travelling at high speed.

While one bus belonged to Bulandshahr depot, the other was from the Kaushambi depot of the Uttar Pradesh State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).

The deceased have been identified as Pappu and Subodh. All the injured belonged to Budayun, Aonla and Bareilly.

The injured have been admitted to the community health centre (CHC). Of them, the condition of four is serious and they have been referred to Budayun Medical College.

The drivers and conductors of both the state-owned buses fled the accident spot.
