Moily appointed head of manifesto committee for Karnataka polls

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday appointed M. Veerappa Moily as chairman of the manifesto committee of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state next year.

Karnataka Congress leader B.L. Shankar has been appointed Moily's deputy. The manifesto committee has 33 other members.

"The Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has approved the constitution of the Executive Committee of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress, manifesto committee for the forthcoming assembly election and appointment of 15 district Congress committees presidents," said Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi in a statement.

Karnataka is likely to witness assembly elections in mid 2018.
