Kuala Lumpur, Oct 13 (IANS) Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri carded a one-over 73 in the second round to drop to the tied 23rd position at the $7 million CIMB Classic on Friday.
Lahiri, who was tied eighth after an opening round of five-under 67, now has a total of four-under 140.
The 30-year-old scored three birdies against four bogeys which gave him a 73 at the TPC Kuala Lumpur course.
Meanwhile, Pat Perez of the United States fired a superb seven-under 65 to hold a one-stroke lead over compatriot Xander Schauffele.
Perez shot eight birdies against a lone bogey on the 12th hole for a 65 that took his total to 13-under 131.
Schauffele, who was voted the 2016-2017 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, eagled the par-three fifth hole from 27 feet to stay a further shot back following a 67 in the event sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGA Tour.
Sung Kang (68) of South Korea, a winner on the Asian Tour, overnight leader Cameron Smith (71) of Australia and Thomas Pieters (67) of Belgium shared the third place on 135 total each to lie four shots back of the lead.
Keegan Bradley (136 total) of the US and Spaniard Rafa Bello Cabrera (137 total) were sixth and seventh respectively.
