New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Wednesday said that a "message" written by Lt. Governor Anil Baijal to the Assembly was leaked to the media by Baijal's Principal Secretary Vijay Kumar.
Goel urged Baijal to give a warning to Vijay Kumar and other officials involved in the "leak" and also warned the officials himself.
Goel was referring to a message written by Baijal on September 13, to Goel stating that the Department Related Standing Committees (DRSCs) have "powers in excess of the powers enjoyed by the Standing Committees of the Lok Sabha".
DRSCs were formed to look into developmental works of various goverment departments and hold the executive accountable.
The Speaker said that the message being leaked to the media nudged him to write a response to Baijal on September 20.
Asked about how he know about Kumar leaking the letter, Goel replied that he has information on the issue and added that an Assembly appointed committee will also look into the issue.
