Game of Numbers -The ‘Fan Wars’ take a new ugly turn

“Telugu Cinema”, this word has been a synonym for the success of Indian cinema in the recent times. The boundaries of Telugu cinema are being pushed beyond bollywood thereby shifting the focus of the big guns of the National entertainment to South Cinema.

Recent times Telugu cinema has been ruling the US box office and Indian ticket windows with humongous numbers, thanks to the Stardom of South Superstars, directors and their team who have been delivering quality movies which define the love for cinema among the people.

While this can be treated as a wide angle to expect further enthralling subjects we also have the other side of the coin “Fan Wars”.

We are known for fan wars and this praxis is continuing even in 2017. Individuals who love their demigods are getting colonial based on their interests but the problem is when these interests are turning into a directionless “ISM” as a habit of which the colonial groups practice trolling their frenemy clubs in every way possible.

The history of fan wars in Telugu Industry, they have been prominent since the era of NTR vs ANR, Shoban ns Krishna, Chiranjeevi vs Balakrishna and in recent times It's Mahesh vs PK and Mahesh vs Jr NTR Charan vs NTR Bunny vs NTR thereby leading to spread this nincompoop behavior congenital.

While the actors continue to impress the audience in their own ways the fans continue to indulge in an endless battle for the box office results.

This is the point where the “War of the Fans” and the “Game of the Numbers” Surface which is leading the movie makers on the receiving end to face wrath of the results.

In an industry where word of mouth plays a key role the colonies are busy in spreading their camps exaggerated accolades and bloated numbers and derogatory ripostes on the other camp which leads to the rout of the inceptive factor of publicity “word of mouth”.

Imagine the health of post-release business when this abomination is being done in an ‘organized’ way through print and social medium supervised by so called cloaked P.R.Os. making it a ‘collection mafia’ (speaking in layman). These P.R.Os use biased or paid box office trackers as aids to generate bloated numbers. In recent times we see early bird live updates proclaimed as “genuine reviews” are also being used as Trump Cards in this game. While the extent of attention paid to the movie being busy updating live feed is always questionable and it directly questions the intentions and concentration on the movie.

These numbers directly affect the business of new movie enthusiasts as the decision to adjudge any movie for business in future is unequivocally permutes.

A very recent example of this is the Dussera releases. SPYder and Jai Lava Kusa. One is a seat edge thriller while another is a commercial family entertainer. Speaking facts both the movies have average contents which appeal to a set of audience and would get well with the business given a particular period of time, while the production values of the former being large scale the movie had to be churned out into a bilingual to balance the ROIs.

But the above discoursed “factors” have to lead to obvious today by SPYder being on the receiving side of the wrath. Though the movie had a content which would appeal to the universal audience and is pleasing to the people of three states, a content which could slowly pull the audience to the theaters, the organized segment has been persistent in spreading the “word of mouth” factor doing requisite damage to the movie.

Considering the current generation wherein the social media plays a key role in the success factor of any given project, the protagonists should have an eye on obliterating this kind of cloaked halfwits who are bound to kill the Telugu Cinema. So wake up Folks

To conclude, Irrespective of the movie result, We know only one thing “Cinema Cinema Cinema” and we love this industry which has been an integral part of our lives for 75+ years.

Hail Telugu Cinema !!
