Mysuru (Karnataka), Sep 29 (IANS) Thousands of tourists and local residents thronged the Bannimantap Grounds here on Friday to witness Dasara Air Show organised by the state government as a special attraction during the festival celebrations.
The crowds cheered in excitement as Indian Air Force MI-17 choppers and Advanced Light Helicopters flew above the venue.
The IAF's Akash Ganga skydiving team also performed spectacular mid-air acrobatics, petal showering and other feats during the half-hour show that was organised after a gap of nearly five years.
"We are very glad that (Defence Minister) Nirmala Sitharaman has given us permission for the air show. We hope to hold the next year's air show in a much bigger way," Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters at the venue.
