Modi invites French firms to benefit from investment opportunities

New Delhi, Sep 26 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited French companies to take advantage of the improving business climate and growing investment opportunities in India.

Modi, who met Pierre Gattaz, President of MEDEF (Mouvement des Entreprises de France), the largest employer federation of France, recalled his visit to France in April 2015 during which he interacted with a number of French business leaders.

A PMO release said Modi appreciated "the invaluable contribution" of business leaders from both countries in strengthening the bilateral ties between India and France over the years.

Gattaz briefed Modi about growing trade and investment relations between India and France.

"The Prime Minister noted that France is one of India's top 10 sources of Foreign Direct Investment, and invited French companies to take advantage of the improving business climate and growing investment opportunities in India," the release said.
