Kolkata, Sep 20 (IANS) The Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH) has installed two clusters of bio-toilets at its sprawling campus here as part of its Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan initiative, its curator said here on Wednesday.
These toilets use a waste management technology which reduces solid human waste to biogas and pure water with the help of live bacteria, Jayanta Sengupta, Secretary and Curator of VMH, said in a statement.
"The two clusters -- each having one 'His' and one 'Hers' toilet -- are located near the North and South Gates of the VMH campus, respectively," Sengupta said.
On September 22, these toilets will be ceremonially dedicated to the public by West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, who is also the Chair of the Board of Trustees, VMH.
