New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS) The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Delhi Police to file a report on the safety and security of metro commuters.
A division bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Nazmi Waziri asked DMRC and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for the security at Delhi Metro stations, to hold a meeting within two weeks and discuss safety requirements for metro passengers.
The court listed the matter for October 26 for further hearing.
The court was hearing a suo motu habeas corpus after reading a news report that a 19-year-old woman with speech and hearing impairment had gone missing on April 21. Later the girl was traced to Rewari district in Haryana.
