Ryan International School to open on Monday

Gurugram, Sep 16 (IANS) The Ryan International School, where a seven-year old student was murdered on September 8, is likely to reopen on Monday with the district administration assuring that it will rectify deficiencies in its functioning on the basis of its inquiry report.

"We will be taking over the administration of the school and we would like to open the school soon on Monday itself so that children don't have any issue with academics," Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh told CNN-NEWS 18.

Singh said that they'll be taking control of assets and liabilities of the school.

"We'll make sure that what ever deficiencies which were highlighted in the (inquiry) report, we correct them," he said.

The district administration had set up an inquiry into the lapses of the school following the murder.

Singh also said that they held a meeting on Saturday with few parent bodies, managements and principals of schools in the district. "All guidelines regarding safety of schools were reiterated and they were directed to comply with them," he said.

The Haryana government has asked for a CBI investigation into the brutal murder of Pradhuman Thakur in the school premises.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who had visited Pradhuman's distraught family on Friday, had also announced the school will be taken over by the Gurugram district administration for three months and the Deputy Commissioner will be in-charge of running it.
