Rightwing extremist extradited to Italy

Rome, Sep 14 (IANS/AKI) Italian authorities on Thursday extradited from the UK a far-right extremist who a court in the central city of Lucca jailed for eight years over an attack in which his victim lost an eye.

Adam Alexander Mossa was taken to Rome's Rebibbia jail to serve an eight-year prison sentence for his role in the assault on a leftwing manual worker in a pub in Lucca in the Tuscany region in May 2010.

Mossa and two other far-right militants used knives and knuckle-dusters in the savage attack, during which glass was hurled at their victim, blinding him in one eye.

Mossa was detained by British police on November 25 in the southern English country of Kent on an international arrest warrant.

At the time of his arrest, he was working as a barman and playing in a skinhead band called No Surrender.

Mossa went on the run in 2015 shortly before Italy's Supreme Court on July 3 that year upheld his jail term for the 2010 attack in Luca.

A neo-Fascist Forza Nuova party militant, Mossa was arrested several times between 2007 and 2009 for violent brawls and was banned for attending sporting events in Italy.
