Missing SPG commando found

New Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS) A Special Protection Group (SPG) commando who went missing after a rebuke from his senior officers over negligent behaviour on duty was found on Wednesday, police said.

The police said commando Rakesh Kumar, 31, went missing on September 1 after he left his house in Dwarka's Sector 8 for office. He left his mobile phone behind.

"Kumar's father filed a missing complaint at Tughlak Road police station on September 3. We found Rakesh Kumar in the Lutyen's zone in Connaught Place," Deputy Commissioner of Police B.K. Singh said.

"He was earlier posted at the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He had completed his training but did not report it to his seniors at SPG headquarters within set time limit. When he reported back to his senior officers, they rebuked him and warned him of departmental action," he added.

"Kumar went into depression and left his house of his own will. After medical examination, he is being counselled," the officer added.
