New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Widespread rain on Thursday brought much-needed respite from sultry weather to the capital's residents as the maximum temperature dropped to 32.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
Delhi recorded 59mm rainfall -- Ayanagar had 35.3mm rainfall, Palam 23.8mm and the Ridge area 22.6mm, the Met Office said.
The weatherman forecast good rains in Delhi over the next two days.
"The monsoon trough is shifting from the West towards Delhi. This will shift in the next two days, due to which parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will record more rains," said Mahesh Palawat, Director of private weather forecasting agency Skymet.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi on Friday would be around 32 and 25 degrees Celsius.
The minimum on Thursday was recorded at 26.6 degrees while humidity oscillated between 88 and 100 per cent.
Wednesday's maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 35.5 degrees and 27.6 degrees Celsius, both a notch above the season's average.
