New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) A group of Tamil Nadu ministers and AIADMK leaders on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here and are believed to have discussed the current political situation in the state in the wake of withdrawal of support to Chief Minister K. Palaniswami by 19 MLAs of the ruling party.
Sources said the Home Minister told them that the issue was now confined to internal affairs of the AIADMK and the Governor may not intervene at this stage. The DMK and other opposition parties should approach the Assembly Speaker for any remedy in the Assembly, he is understood to have said.
Ministers D. Jayakumar and Thangamani, party MP V. Maitreyan and former MP Manoj Pandian were part of the group that met the Home Minister.
