Mumbai, Aug 30 (IANS) Actress Kanisha Malhotra says her two short films -- "Lucid Dreams" and "Jhumke" - have been selected for screening in the competitive category at the 4th Goa Short Film Festival.
"Two of my short films which I have written, directed and acted in under my banner Designerwala Lab Productions have been selected to be screened at 4th Goa Short Film Festival under a competitive category. The festival will take place in Panaji from October 28-29," Kanisha said in a statement.
"I am really excited for it as the festival is happening on my birthday, October 28. It's one of the best birthday gifts for me as these films are really close to me," she added.
Kanisha is best known for her roles in TV shows like "Jai Jai Jai Bajrang Bali", "Maharakshak: Devi" and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein".
Talking about her short films, she said: "'Lucid Dreams' is a suspense thriller where a psychiatrist is being investigated by an officer about a murder mystery and events that takes place later.
"While 'Jhumke' is a drama about a sweet bond between a grandmother and a granddaughter. 'Lucid Dreams' was my debut film as a director. Featuring Kabir Sadanand and Shilpa Kadam, it was earlier selected at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film festival."

Proud to be part of 'The Drama Company': Upasana Singh
After her various gigs in comedy TV shows like "Comedy Nights with Kapil", "Comedy Nights Live" and "The Kapil Sharma Show", actress Upasana Singh has now joined the cast of "The Drama Company". She feels proud to be a part of the TV show.
"I feel immensely proud to work at 'The Drama Company'. I readily agreed to work as I have worked with Neeti and Preeti Simoes (producers of the show) very closely in the past and they are my really good friends. I will be a guest performer on the show for a few episodes," Upasana said in a statement.
"The Drama Company", aired on Sony Entertainment Television, also features Mithun Chakraborty, Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lehri.

Actor Puru Chibber, who is seen in filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's TV show "Naamkarann", says whatever he has achieved in his life, he owes it to his mother and popular actress Vibha Chibber.
"Since childhood I have always been a mumma' boy. My mother is one who helps me in taking my personal and professional decisions. My mother has given me everything with time. Today whatever I am or I own is only because of her. Even I have learned acting from her. Still I am not as brilliant and talented as her, she is my lifeline," Puru said in a statement.

Directed by Omung Kumar, "Bhoomi" also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharad Kelkar and Sidhant Gupta, and is slated for release on September 22.
