Bhubaneswar, Aug 27 (ANS) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours due to cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.
The Met department has also issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for as many as 27 districts in Odisha.
Very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Ganjam in the next 48 hours due to cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal, said an IMD bulletin.
Another system is likely to form on September 1 and it seems to be stationary up to September 5.
It may cause continuous heavy rainfall in north Odisha river catchments during September 2-5, it added.
