Centre using government agencies against Opposition: AAP

New Delhi, Aug 26 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday alleged that the central government was unleashing government agencies on the opposition parties across the country.

Referring to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid on party colleague Satyendar Jain's residence on Friday, AAP leader Ashutosh told the media here that while the opposition was being targeted, no attention was being paid to the acts of corruption being committed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Echoing similar sentiments, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said they had been hearing for the past one year that there were "problems", but the CBI had no proof to date.

"They say that they have got incriminating documents, but when asked what they have got, the CBI says they are still working on it," Bharadwaj said.

Bharadwaj pointed out that the CBI got only 52 grams of gold and Rs 50,000 in cash from Jain's house during Friday's raid.

"I challenge the central government and the CBI to prove that Jain has bought shares or property even worth one rupee since the AAP decided to make Jain its candidate in 2013," he said while demanding of the CBI to place the evidence before the people and file a chargesheet in the court if they had any proof.

Bharadwaj, however, added that Jain had bought shares in three companies worth Rs 51.4 lakh while working as an architect from 2007-2011.
