New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) Naz Foundation, a gay and transgender rights group, on Thursday hailed the Supreme Court ruling on right to privacy, saying it will have far reaching consequences for the LGBT population.
"The judgement has far reaching consequences, especially on Section 377 of IPC because the Delhi High Court judgement was based on the argument of privacy," Anjali Gopalan, Founder, Naz Foundation, told IANS.
He said that some years ago a professor in Aligarh committed suicide after a sting operation in his house. "Such violation will not happen."
