New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) It was a warm and humid day in the national capital on Thursday with the maximum temperature recorded at 34.7 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, the Met Office said.
The humidity oscillated between 54 and 97 per cent. The city, however, witnessed no rainfall on Thursday. The Met Office has forecast rain on Friday.
Due to moderate rainfall on Wednesday, the minimum temperature on Thursday fell to 25.2 degrees, a notch below the season's average.
"There are chances of light rains or drizzling on Friday. Rainfall was expected on Thursday, however, the system shifted towards south and thus there was no trace of rain," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Thursday, the overall rainfall before 8.30 a.m. was recorded to be 37.6 mm.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday settled at 34.7 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
