Jammu, Aug 24 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir on Thursday visited the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district and reviewed the preparedness of the Border Security Force troopers, a BSF spokesman said.
The spokesman said the Minister visited the Chamliyal border outpost of the BSF in Samba and was "received at the BSF Post in force tradition by BSF Inspector General, Jammu Frontier, Ram Awtar, and other dignitaries".
"The IG BSF gave a detailed briefing on the prevailing security scenario on Jammu border. He also gave details about the measures undertaken by BSF to strengthen the border protection, threat perception existing on International border and the existing border control and protection mechanism undertaken in light of likely threats," said the spokesman.
"The minister also interacted with field commanders," he added.
