Dubai, Aug 23 (IANS) Hundreds of passengers flying to the Philippines' capital Manila were stranded at Dubai International Airport as their flight was cancelled due to a "technical issue", a media report said on Wednesday.
The Dubai-Manila flight, operated by Cebu Pacific Air, was scheduled to leave at 11.10 p.m. on Tuesday, the airline was cited as saying by Xinhua news agency.
The Philippines low-cost airline apologised and said it provided affected passengers with compensations including meals, hotel accommodation and a one-way travel voucher.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this situation has caused. The safety of our passengers remains our top priority," Gulf news quoted the airline as saying.
Travellers who were unable to check into the hotel because of UAE visa regulations were provided access to the airport lounge at DXB, it added.
