Mumbai, Aug 18 (IANS) Music label T-Series has announced its second season of the web series "Mixtape".
After the success of its first season which ended on August 10, the label is coming out with another season with music director Abhijit Vaghani.
"'Mixtape' was all about the celebration of music, combining the talents and passion of singers and musicians teaming up to create a world of magic that will be cherished in the seasons to come. There is much to explore in the realm of 'Mixtape' and the first step was definitely a kickstarter to display the kind of appreciation the audience reciprocated," Vaghani said in a statement.
The second season will have 12 episodes unlike its previous season that had 17 episodes.
"While we haven't decided the list of songs as yet, but we might even take a song of the first season and treat it differently this time. Along with the best singers and artists, we are even considering upcoming talent and YouTubers who have made it big in the industry thereby transforming yet again the blockbuster hits into beautiful versions," Vaghani said.
"In the first season, instruments like Sarod, Ravanahatha and Ukulele were used and there was also a Turkish Clarinet tone along with a midi wind instrument in the songs 'Dua sawere' as well as the tracks 'Inna akhiya' and 'Nachda'.
"This time around also we plan to promote a lot of rare instruments which have somewhere taken a backseat in our industry, thereby, promoting the rich heritage of our Bollywood industry. Hence we present to you 'Tseries Mixtape 2' -- a musical journey to look forward to," Vaghani added.
The second season of "Mixtape" is slated to release on T-Series' YouTube channel in December.
