New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba to convey condolences at the loss of lives due to floods in the Himalayan nation and extend all relief assistance.
"The Prime Minister conveyed condolences at the loss of life in Nepal due to recent widespread floods, and expressed readiness to provide all possible relief assistance," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
More than one-third of Nepal has been flooded and the humanitarian crisis is likely to get worse in the days.
Many areas in Nepal remain cut off after the floods and landslides, and many villages and communities have no food, water and electricity.
