Kendriya Vidyalaya student dies in school

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) A 17-year-old student of Kendriya Vidyalaya died on Thursday after falling unconscious during the school assembly in Gole Market in central Delhi, police said.

The Class 11 student was identified as Sonu, a resident of Railway Colony in Paharganj.

"The incident occurred when he was taking part in the school assembly and fell unconscious. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors declared him dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police B.K. Singh said.

"We are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death," Singh added.
