Goa Congresswomen send bangles to Modi, Shah over Rahul attack

Panaji, Aug 5 (IANS) The Goa Congress' women wing on Saturday sent a box of bangles for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, accusing them of indulging in underhand tactics and being behind Friday's assault on party's Vice President Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, women's wing President Pratima Coutinho said that the bangles, which are being sent by "courier parcel" to both the top BJP leaders, should be a reminder that they should fight politics head-on and not resort to stoning and vandalism.

"We have chosen bangles of various sizes and colours. Both Modi and Shah can choose the ones they want.

"Our party Vice President's car was attacked by vandals from the BJP when he was touring Gujarat. They should have the guts to take Rahul ji on politically," she said.

Gandhi's convoy was attacked when he visited the flood-hit areas of Gujarat. A Bharatiya Janata Party youth leader has been arrested in connection with the incident.
