Amman, Aug 1 (IANS) The Jordanian government has banned the country's first online gay magazine, citing license violation.
Mohammad Outishat, director general of Jordan Media Commission, on Monday said the magazine is not licensed and "acts in contrary to article 49 of the Press and Publications Law", reports Xinhua news agency.
Editors of the magazine had negative reactions in the community, claiming they had licensed the magazine dealing with gay affairs, which turned out to be completely untrue, Outishat said.
However, the name of the magazine was not revealed.
