‘FINE’ technology gives Canon an edge: Top executive

Bengaluru, July 26 (IANS) From desktop-sized inkjets to huge enterprise-level machines, Canon has an edge owing to its New-Age technology that ensures efficient performance, a top executive from the digital imaging giant Canon has said.

The Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology's ink ejection mechanism and print head manufacturing technology have helped Canon achieve dramatic improvements in image quality, gradation expression and image stability.

"The ink droplet speed has been increased to more than 1.5 times that of conventional systems, reducing their susceptibility to airflow disturbances and enabling increased placement accuracy," Hideki Ozawa, President, Canon Asia Marketing Group, told IANS on the sidelines of an event here on July 25.

Canon India has launched the third generation 'imageRUNNER ADVANCE' Series and a robust A3 colour multi-function device (MFD) 'iR C3020'.

Targeted towards the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and start-up communities, the products are now available for sale in the Indian market.

"As India plays an increasingly vital role in the growth of Canon in Asia, the launch will further strengthen the important position of 'Business Imaging Solutions' within Canon India's total business and be a vital contributor to the overall growth of Canon," Ozawa, who is also the Executive Vice President of Canon Inc and President and CEO of Canon China, told reporters here.

Earlier this year, Canon marked its 20th anniversary in the country and announced its "Vision 2020" under which, the company has set a growth target of Rs 3,500 crore in the next three years.

"Our legacy of two decades has further strengthened our commitment of providing enhanced propositions in our products and service outreach," added Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India.

"With the launch of the third generation 'imageRUNNER ADVANCE' Series, we aim to add more 'colours to India' and strengthen our mark in the colour printing segment," Kobayashi noted.
