PM expresses grief over loss of lives in Udaipur bus accident

New Delhi, July 22 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed grief over the loss of lives when a bus overturned near Udaipur in Rajasthan on Saturday.

"The Prime Minister extended condolences to the families of the deceased. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident," an official statement said.

The incident took place around 9 a.m. when the bus which was enroute to Haridwar from Ahmedabad overturned on the Ahmedabad-Udaipur highway.

Five persons died on the spot while four succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital. A few of them were in critical condition, the officer said.
