Sheth from Dombivali, Thane, was followed by Agathiswaran S. from Vellore in Tamil Nadu and Krishna Pawan Gupta from Mumbai.
Agathiswaran and Gupta scored 75.25 per cent and 75.13 per cent respectively.
The three toppers scored 630, 602, and 601 marks out of the maximum 800.
A total of 1,32,007 candidates appeared for one of the toughest exams in the country held in May this year at 372 centres. Of them, 10,276 qualified as CAs after Tuesday's results.
Only four centres are located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Kathmandu.
The ICAI also announced results for its Common Proficiency Test (CPT), an entrance equivalent of the CA course.
A total of 88,916 candidates appeared for the CPT, which was conducted in June at 372 centres. Of the aspirants, 39.96 per cent males and 41.23 per cent females cleared the exam.
The total pass percentage for the CPT was 40.52 per cent.
